Auron
Auron is a playable character in the Square RPG Final Fantasy X. He is a fallen monk who was previously chronicled as a guardian for Yuna's father when he went on the journey to the calm and to stop Sin. Auron, a quiet warrior who is typically terse and blunt, uses a large sword similar to a large katana or zanbatou. His ultimate weapon is the Masamune, the same name as Sephiroth's katana in Final Fantasy VII. He carries a sake gourd, filled with 'nog', a Spiran liquor, at his side, which he rarely uses for its intended purpose.
Auron appears at the beginning of the game with Tidus during the destruction of Zanarkand by Sin, and becomes a playable character after the player reaches the city of Luca. In the course of Final Fantasy X, Tidus learns that Auron was the guardian to High Summoner Braska, along with Jecht. With both his companions missing, nothing had been heard of "Sir Auron" in Spira since then, until his appearance at the Luca Stadium to battle the invading Fiends. Auron gives the impression of knowing much more than he lets on, but is stoutly loyal to Yuna and is somewhat of a guide to Tidus.
